Golden nuggets to add to everyday life

The meaning we extract from our life incidents and experiences is unique to us, and we end up collecting our own individual golden nuggets during the course of our lives. These are the golden nuggets from my journey so far,

1.  Life without some routine or purpose is the root cause of most problems. Keeping oneself busy saves us from creating problems for ourselves.

2. Apart from the fear of FALLING DOWN OR LOUD NOISE, everything else is learned from people around us, life experiences, media, or society. Fear of animals or birds or people or embarrassment etc are all learned behaviors which means we can UNLEARN them too.

3. ‘I can’t or I won’t be able to do something’ are new phrases that we realized after 4-5 years of age when someone pointed it out, be it school or parents or friends. In fact, this is the reason why we were able to progress from lying to sitting to crawling to walking to running to driving to flying without giving up. So, if we stopped believing the words of others then we can probably forgo the ‘we can’t or we won’t be able to’ phrases from our lives. It will be magical.

4. True happiness comes from two things- FULFILLING OUR RESPONSIBILITY (as a person, friend, son or daughter, mother or father, employee, entrepreneur, and an individual) and HAVING FUN (taking time to do activities that make us happy). One without the other will always leave a void.

5. Generally, we are more forgiving and accepting towards MEN (than women) when they commit a mistake or crime or try new things. Generally, we are more sympathetic and non-judgemental towards WOMEN (than men) when they are victims of some violence or tragedy. So we are in a way hardwired to see men and women differently and unless we make a conscious effort we will continue to make gender-biased decisions.

Applying the above 5 lessons in my life made a huge difference in my life and thought it was worth sharing.
