The game of life
Our family, society, and culture thrust upon us the social and cultural norms, as we grow up, to ensure we live a reasonably predictable life that meets our survival and materialistic needs. However, life or fate will throw unpredictability in the form of change problems or challenges.
Life is beautiful if we understand ‘the game of life’ and play by its rules. Here are some guidelines:
1. The only constant in the game of life is ‘Change’ (good or bad).
2. Changes will come in everyone’s life from external sources, outside our control, or internal
sources such as mistakes or decisions we make.
3. When a ‘change’ adds value, and matches our beliefs and lifestyle then we call it ‘luck’. And if a ‘change’ is unpleasant, makes us doubt, and goes against our beliefs and lifestyle, then we call it a ‘problem’ or ‘bad luck’. However, we are designed to embrace change (be it good or bad) as it comes in order to evolve and grow.
4. The more we resist and avoid problems by not taking any risks in life, the more restricted our thinking process will be, resulting in a perception of life with limited choices.
5. Generally, people who face more variety and change are likely to live a more evolved, cherished, and wholesome life (look around, as there is evidence everywhere).
6. Change is change, the difference is in our perception.
Here are some tips to handle change, especially the unpleasant ones, in life:
1. Change the perception about ‘changes in life’. See change as a way to grow and evolve our life experience, especially when it is unpleasant
2. After resolving a problem, learn three (3) valuable lessons from the challenge or mistake we made
3. Meditate
There are no real winners or losers in life, as no matter how we live or what choices we make, we all die sooner or later. Nevertheless, we do have a choice to live a wholesome life or a sheltered life.
Look around and notice people we come across in life and it will be very evident that those who embraced change lived a richer (not only financial) life than those who did everything to avoid it.
Our perception our CHOICE our LIFE!
